Why it’s different

The Ladevèze Folle Blanche 2004 Armagnac is the result of the work of Alexandre and Manon Ladevèze, the fifth generation at the helm of the Domaine de la Boubée, in the heart of the Ténarèze appellation. Their philosophy is clear and ambitious: to preserve and promote Armagnac’s historic grape varieties, bringing rare, often nearly extinct varieties back to the fore through separate distillations and a deeply artisanal approach.

Among these varieties, Folle Blanche holds a special place. It is one of the oldest grape varieties in Armagnac, once dominant in Gascony before the phylloxera epidemic, but now found only in very small quantities due to its fragility and the difficulty of cultivating it. In spirits, it imparts finesse, elegance and great aromatic intensity. At Domaine Ladevèze, it grows on just 1.2 hectares of clay-limestone soil, in a plot called ‘Marie Jeanne’, planted in 1985.

This release comes from a single cask, No. 7, holding just 130 litres. Distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2024 after 20 years of maturation, it has been released at full strength in just 174 bottles. A rare, delicate and intensely expressive Armagnac
