History

Pegasus Vodka was founded in Meursault, in the heart of Burgundy, based on the vision of Maxime Girardin, son of the renowned winemaker Vincent Girardin, with the aim of bringing the culture of terroir and French winemaking expertise to the world of ultra-premium spirits. Driven by a love of the stars, the brand combines high-quality local craftsmanship with a contemporary and sustainable approach. The distillery’s character is rooted in the exclusive use of carefully selected organic cereals sourced locally and the use of the purest water drawn from Meursault’s underground aquifers, at a depth of over 150 metres.

Production Method

The production process combines cutting-edge technology with meticulous care to ensure exceptional aromatic purity. Classic Pegasus Vodka is the result of slow reflux distillation with extremely selective cuts, designed to isolate and extract only the finest heart of the distillate, followed by a gradual, temperature-controlled reduction that gives it a delicate aroma and a smooth texture.

The pinnacle of this experimentation, however, is reached with the limited-edition Shooting Star: produced through three slow reflux distillations (equivalent to over ten traditional distillations), the vodka is aged for at least one year in Italian terracotta amphorae through a slow oxidative exchange. During this ageing process, an authentic meteorite suspended at the centre of the amphora releases its characteristic minerals, enhancing the roundness and imparting a truly unique complexity and texture to the spirit.
