Sheridan's

Sheridan's

By Velier

Conceived in Dublin in the late 1980s, Sheridan's was created with the aim of combining two universally loved ingredients: coffee and cream. The official launch dates back to 1992 and introduced an innovation to the market that was destined to become iconic: the double chamber bottle, with a transparent design that allows you to see the two liqueurs side by side. One is dark, made from coffee and Irish whiskey. The other is white, with fresh cream.

The originality of the serving ritual, in which the two liquids are poured simultaneously, creating distinct layers in the glass, has made Sheridan's instantly recognisable and appreciated around the world.

Overview

Sheridan’s is an Irish liqueur born from the combination of two complementary elements: the intensity of coffee and the smoothness of cream. Its identity lies not only in its flavour, but also in its instantly recognisable bottle, designed to keep the two components separate and bring them together when served.

Conceived in Dublin in the late 1980s, Sheridan’s was born out of a desire to offer an original reinterpretation of the combination of coffee, whisky and cream – a combination deeply rooted in Irish culture. The project led to the development of a product comprising two different liqueurs, presented together in a dual-chamber bottle.

Launched in the early 1990s by Thomas Sheridan & Sons, Sheridan’s immediately stood out in the world of liqueurs thanks to its innovative technical and visual design. The transparent bottle allows you to see the two liquids side by side: on one side, the dark coffee liqueur, with notes of cocoa and Irish whisky; on the other, a light, velvety cream, characterised by hints of vanilla.

The bottle was not designed merely as an aesthetic feature, but as an integral part of the drinking experience, because the closure system allows the two components to flow out simultaneously, forming two distinct layers in the glass. A simple yet striking gesture that has made Sheridan’s recognisable all over the world.

The dark component of Sheridan’s is a coffee and chocolate liqueur, enriched with the warm notes of Irish whisky. The light component, on the other hand, is a silky-textured milk cream, characterised by hints of vanilla and white chocolate.

The two mixtures are bottled in separate glass chambers, and are only poured simultaneously through two separate openings at the moment of serving. The different densities of the components allow the cream to settle on top of the coffee liqueur, creating the characteristic black-and-white layering.

Sheridan’s can be served neat, preferably chilled, or with ice and alongside coffee.
