Tullamore Dew
Tullamore Dew
By Velier
Tullamore Dew is a brand of the William Grant's group, with whom we started working in 2008, after a long series of negotiations, almost surprisingly managing to become their new distributor. Since then, a wonderful friendship has also developed with Charles Gordon, 80-year-old owner of William Grant's and visionary nomad. He is the man who invented the classification of single malts, and thanks to him and long chats on his boat I gave birth to my own classification of rums. William Grant's is proof that even a huge company can combine power with the spirit of its leader.
Overview
History
Tullmore Distillery is an old Irish distillery whose history dates back to 1829, when Michael Molloy founded the small distillery in the town of Tullamore, County Offaly. Tullamore is a small town in Ireland that today has a population of almost 13,000 people. D.E.W are the initials of Daniel E. Williams, a pioneer and innovator who contributed to the prosperity of the town and the distillery throughout the early part of the 1900s.
Production method
Tullamore Dew is the original triple Irish whiskey blend. The three spirits combined manage to give a balance of flavour like no other: grain gives the sweetness, malt gives the fruit notes, pot gives the spicy sensation. A variant is the Rum Cask edition, an Irish whiskey dedicated to the Irish people who emigrated to the Caribbean in the 16th and 17th centuries to work on sugar cane plantations and the development of rum. A whisky with a complex character and tropical fruit notes.
