Bomberger's

Bomberger's

By Velier

Bomberger's is produced by Michter's Distillery. The owners of Michter's, the Magliocco family, are originally from Sicily. Already creators of New York's most important distribution company, they then launched themselves into the production of bourbon, with a historic brand like Michter's. So our market, although it is a very small market for quality boubon, is an emotional market for them. And it is really nice to see us working together. Among other things, we had the pleasure of bringing Max Magliocco to Sicily for the first time, to show him the smells and tastes, the roots of his family;

Overview

History

Bomberger's is a limited edition selected to celebrate the history of Michter's Whiskey: founded in 1753 by the Shenk brothers, the distillery in the state of Pennsylvania was bought by the Dutchman Abraham Bomberger in 1860 and became famous by marketing its whiskey for decades under the name Bomberger's. A premium bourbon to be served neat or with a large cube of ice.

Production method

Bomberger's is made from a careful selection of the best American oak barrels (quercus alba) and a very small proportion of casks made from chinquapin oak staves (quercus muehlenbergii), a variety of oak native to the central and eastern states of North America with woods that impart great richness of flavour to the ageing liquid. After distillation in the traditional copper pot still and a passage through the copper column, the liquid is lowered in degree and put to age;
