Why it’s different

The third Compass Box whiskey in the No Name series, dedicated to the heavily peated malt whiskey, is characterized by an intense peaty and marine aroma, given by the single malt from the Laphroaig distillery, and smoky and fruity notes from the Bowmore distillery. More fruity than No Name, No. 2, it has a more medicinal peaty character than No Name, with strong tropical and heather fragrances.

Compass Box founder, American John Glaser, is a rebel in the world of whisky.

With a background in Diageo, John decides to found Compass Box in 2000, a company that would return to producing quality blended whiskies after a long time.

John's approach is to produce completely different whiskies, which also represent a criticism of the whisky market dominated by low-level blended: creativity, restricted aging rules, little importance of the years of maturation and no filtration to cold are the cornerstones of this selector who amazes and attracts fans and critics.
