Why it’s different

Caroni Paradise #12 comes from cask no. 5627, a Full Proof Heavy Trinidad Rum distilled in 1996 and double matured – from 1996 to 2008 in Trinidad and from 2009 to 2018 in Guyana.

Only 234 bottles were made of this release.

Each is encased in precious hand-blown glass by Massimo Lunardon, while the labels reproduce the vividly coloured Caribbean-inspired works of Trinidadian artist Che Lovelace, a lecturer at the University of the West Indies' creative arts campus.

Focus

Created during the historic Caroni Ceremony on 12 April 2019 in Cognac, The Paradise series represents the culmination of the selection carried out by 26 rum experts, including Luca Gargano, who on that occasion identified the 23 best casks from the 136 surviving casks of Caroni's last available stock.

From that legendary tasting came some of the brand's most iconic expressions, such as The Last, Tasting Gang and Employees, as well as the Single Casks destined for The Paradise series.
