Why it’s different
Pikesville Straight Rye is a historic Maryland brand and the last one from this region to still be produced. It is part of the Heaven Hill Group, the largest independent family-owned bourbon distillery. Founded in 1934 by the Shapira brothers, it now has more than 900 000 barrels in ageing under the guidance of Master Distiller Craig Beam, a descendant of the legendary 'Jim' Beam.
This super-premium rye whiskey is made from a mashbill of 51% rye, 35% maize and 14% malted barley. It is matured for at least 6 years in specially selected casks.
