Why it’s different

After several years of silence, Rhum Rhum is finally making a comeback and presenting a special edition rich in meaning. This release is a heartfelt tribute to Grégoire Hayot of Karukera, who welcomed and looked after these casks in his ageing warehouse in Guadeloupe.

In true Rhum Rhum style, this spirit is crafted through an artisanal process of the highest calibre: an extremely prolonged fermentation followed by a delicate batch distillation in a water bath, carried out in small copper stills. Distilled in 2012, Rhum Rhum Vieux has undergone 12 years of ageing, carried out entirely in the tropical climate of Guadeloupe, in casks that previously held fine French white wines.
