Rhum Rhum Liberation 2024 Integral
Why it’s different
Rhum Rhum Liberation 2024 Integral is a Pure Single Agricole Rhum produced from an ancient variety of sugar cane, Rouge B47.259, which has almost disappeared from the Antilles. Once perfectly ripe, the cane is cut by hand with traditional 'coutelas' and transported to the distillery on 'cabrouets' pulled by oxen. The freshly pressed juice is not diluted, as is usually the case in the production of rhum agricoles; fermentation takes place in open vats at a controlled temperature and lasts up to 5-6 days. After distillation, a long period of rest in steel vats begins, lasting up to a year. In the Integral version, the alcohol content is not reduced, as is the case with other Liberation rums. The rum is then aged in French oak barrels that have contained some of the finest wines from France's greatest crus.
All Liberation bear a label indicating the year of "liberation" from the barrel. This version was bottled at 56° (i.e. at "full" strength).
