Why it’s different
Unsun Karuta is a series of seven releases that La Maison & Velier has dedicated to the final stocks of Nine Leaves, drawing on the name and imagery of a traditional Japanese card game from the Edo period. Kaba of Guru is the most distinctive bottle: the spirit dates from 2024, described as Yoshiharu Takeuchi’s final distillation, and has been matured for two years in a single cask of Mizunara, the Japanese oak. A single cask bottling at 59°.
