Why it’s different
Each bottle in the Unsun Karuta series is named after a card from an ancient Japanese game, and the seven releases selected by La Maison & Velier together tell the final chapter of the Nine Leaves distillery’s story. Nine of Oru is a Small Batch distilled in 2016 and matured for ten years in casks that previously held red wine – the longest maturation period of any Small Batch in the series. Bottled at 55°. For distillation, Nine Leaves used two Scottish Forsyth’s pot stills, inspired by Chichibu and Glenmorangie.
