Nine Leaves 2017 Ex-Cognac Cask Small batch 9 Y.O. Eight of Pao
Why it’s different
Originating in the late 17th century, the card game Unsun Karuta lends its name to a series of seven Nine Leaves bottlings, all selected by La Maison & Velier from the casks left behind by the Japanese distillery. Eight of Pao is a Small Batch: rather than a single cask, it is a blend of a few casks that previously contained Cognac. The rum was distilled in 2017, has been aged for nine years and is bottled at 55°. The production base is that of Nine Leaves: Kokuto sugar from Okinawa and underground spring water.
