Why it’s different

In the past, the “mesccia” was a blend of Caribbean rum brought to Monaco by Genoese sailors and European liqueurs such as Vermouth and Marsala. Today, the Principality of Monaco and Velier are reviving this 17th-century tradition with a modern twist, selecting high-quality rums and ageing them in casks that previously contained Vermouth.

Mesccia Vieux was born out of the Prince’s desire to recreate a product linked to Monegasque history: a project he was deeply committed to, developed in collaboration with Luca Gargano, who is regarded worldwide as one of the leading experts on rum.
