Why it’s different

Hampden 15 marks a historic moment for the Jamaican distillery in Trelawny: for the first time, a high-ester rum aged for fifteen years entirely in a tropical climate has been added to the permanent range. This unprecedented achievement is the culmination of a vision that began in 2010, when Hampden chose to mature its spirits directly on site, accepting the radical impact of the angel's share and focusing on achieving the maximum possible aromatic expression.

This release stems from the LROK mark, created in 1952 and characterised by a rich yet bright profile, transformed here by ageing that completely redefines its boundaries. Maturation in ex-Bourbon casks and the profound biochemical activity typical of high-ester rums have given rise to a unique expression: a rare balance between intensity, complexity and finesse, without any additives or added sugars.

With Hampden 15, the distillery has reached a new level of international recognition: a rum that appeals to enthusiasts, but also to connoisseurs accustomed to great spirits where time and climate play a central role. It is the contemporary pinnacle of The Fragrance of Trelawny concept and a milestone in the history of aged tropical rum.
