Why it’s different

This 8-year-old Beenleigh is part of the second edition of the legendary Magnum series, born in 2021 from an idea of Luca Gargano, with the aim of bringing together the great masters of rum with the great photographers of the Magnum agency.

Like the first, the second edition of the series aims to offer a range of expressions of rum, which originate from the same raw material but are totally different.

The rum was first distilled in Column Still, and then went through a second step in Copper Pot Still. Aged in ex-bourbon casks, it was bottled at 60%. Founded in 1884, the Beenleigh distillery is located on the banks of the Albert River in south-east Queensland.

If the first edition of the series was accompanied by the iconic label images of Elliott Erwitt, the second pays tribute to the American photographer Alex Webb, who has been with the agency since 1979. This bottle is therefore accompanied by a photograph of him on the label, taken in Haiti in 1979.
