Why it’s different
The Arcadian Barley series, which in addition to Hunter includes Fenniscourt Peated and Ballybannon Peated, explores the natural aromas and authenticity of ancient times, seeking the intensity of flavors from peat barley. Authentic Irish barley and peat for pioneering distillations. Since the dawn of time, peat has been the main source of fuel in rural Ireland. Its sweet aroma enveloped barley dried on peat smoke by illegal distillers, a custom that died out in the 1850s. With barley grown on Fenniscourt and Ballybannon farms, there is a return to a wild tradition rooted in the past.
