Why it’s different
For the fifth anniversary of the Christian Drouin Experimental range, its tenth edition is a 19-year-old Calvados Pays d'Auge finished for five months in ex-Springbank casks, a prestigious Scottish whisky brand. The partnership between Drouin and Springbank is nothing new, since Drouin calvados casks were used for the ageing of some Springbank whiskies 20 years ago. In this new edition, the apple notes are combined with the peaty character of the Springbank casks, which is why a 19-year-old Pays d'Auge was chosen, i.e. a calvados of great depth, which was matured in 8 casks, for a total of 2,130 limited edition bottles.
